Arai Helmet XD-5 Trail Helmet

Created with your safety in mind through Arai's dedication and commitment to advancing the science of helmet protection. Forehead area of shell reinforced by a Super Fiber Belt; temporal region smoothed out compared to XD-4. Handmade shell meticulously assembled using an assortment of materials to be strong and lightweight. Rounded shell helps helmet to Glance Off impact energy in a crash, keeping the force from being transferred inward to your skull. Arai evolved the XD-5 face shield to match the curvature of the rounded helmet, unlike generic shields with a rounded radius, matching the helmet's Glance Off ability in the event of a crash. All-new peak designed for more effective ventilation, increased high-speed flow-through performance, greater range of adjustability to block the sun and more resistant to buffering creating a more comfortable riding experience. VAS-A shield system allows for easier and faster shield swaps, allowing them to be attached or removed without the need for tools, and has been lowered on the XD-5 to further improve Glancing Off ability. Opening area of mouth shutter doubled compared to XD-4 allowing more fresh air in without the need for mesh vents. Inner shutter works with the mouth shutter and allows you to adjust the amount of airflow entering the helmet and where it is directed: with both open, air is directed towards your mouth, with the outer open and inner closed, air is directed towards the shield to help reduce foing. Front logo duct allows for airflow regardless of the rider's position without compromising helmet strength or protection. VAS-A Max Vision(TM) shield preserves a wide field-of-view and high level of visibility, improved over the XD-4. Optional Pinlock insert (sold separately) is effective in resisting foing, even in extreme conditions, across the entire field of view. AR spoiler contributes to reducing fatigue from turbulent air throughout long rides and works to drew out hot air from crown area. Interior liner has the same acidity level as bare skin with odor- and stain-resistant properties. Head liner has a removable foam layer on bother the left and right sides, allowing you to remove up to 5 mm of foam for a custom fit. Retractable pull-down air flap spoiler reduces wind intrusion into the bottom of the helmet and helps to pull out hot and humid exhaled air around the sculpted leading edges of the cheek pads. Re-sculpted Hyper-Ridge provides a flat surface on the sides to allow for easy installation of a wide range of communication devices. Install speakers directly into provided hook and loop panel without the need to remove the cheek pad covers. Ear pockets are deep and wide and designed to accommodate even the thickest speakers. Neck roll has been designed with a pocket to tuck away excess wiring and connectors as well as holes to easily run wires from side to side to prevent wires coming loose while taking the helmet on and off.
